The following is a general outline of our normal Sunday worship meeting.
Worship at 8:00
Worship on Sundays begins at 10 am. God directed us
to worship in the afternoons. The wisdom for this has proven itself in many ways. The whole day revolves around going to church.
Individuals can spend the mornings getting extra quiet time before the Lord, and in the evening we can fellowship with each
other.
Prayer, Suffering Christian Report, Devotional, & Scripture.
The
pastor normally opens in prayer, and then a brother reads a report of suffering Christians from india , other parts
of the world and leads prayer for them. Another brother in the church then comes forward and reads a devotional from a saint
of old who understood what it was to rejoice in the message of the cross. At the same time, he leads the church in a reading
of scripture (usually from the Psalms) together.
Praise and Singing.
We allow the Lord to set the mood for us, not seeking
to please ourselves or to be entertained. If it is a time of rejoicing, so we sing songs that are more active. If the Holy
Spirit is working a spirit of seriousness, then the songs are more contemplative. We put no restrictions or demands on the
Holy Spirit and wait for God to direct in worshipping Him.
The Sermon
The sermon usually lasts from 45–65 minutes and has a strong emphasis on scripture. A wide range of topics are
covered. There is usually something everyone can understand, along with other things that the Lord will have to make clear
as one sets out to obey Scripture by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Closing prayer and fellowship.
One of the brothers closes the service
in prayer, and then we continue to fellowship informally. We are a church that is being taught by God how to love one another,
and like the first church, we fellowship daily and hourly. For us, Sundays are a chance to thank God for the fellowship we
experienced all week long in the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 4:9)
